>Patrick’s shoot: Location portrait photography Edinburgh

>Patrick came into my studio one day a few weeks back and asked if I could take some photos of him on his bike. We made an appointment and ventured round to the union canal (literally parallel to the studio, so in very clost proximity).
Patrick is deaf and so communication about the fine details wasn’t always smooth. With the help of note-pad and pen, our conversation did flow.
It was a very enjoyable shoot and I hope to use this location again soon.

Patrick has inspired me to pursue a course in BSL. This is always something I have wanted to do and was planning to as part of my “enabler” duties as an employee of a big firm when the DDA was announced. However, it didn’t quite happen.
So, thankyou Patrick, I will pursue learning to sign. Hopefully you will return to the studio in the coming years for another portrait shoot and I won’t have to rely on the pen and paper quite so much!
