>We’re open for business!!! whoop whoop……

Edinburgh Photography Studio

Well……

Some of you may have seen me around, in the street, local shop or school playground, generally looking a right old mess….. yes even more so than usual!

Covered in sawdust and paint, ripped jeans etc……. the reason for this is very simple. I have been getting my new premises ready for opening. So far I have taken on the role of locksmith, joiner and decorator, amongst other things….. so I guess if the photography doesn’t pick up and take off, I could always start again in a trade, LOL.

Wallace Artworks is now open at 119 Gilmore Place in Edinburgh. It’s very central, for those of you who aren’t too familiar with Edinburgh, it falls between Tollcross (King’s Theatre) to the East and Polwarth/Merchiston to the West and Bruntsfield to the South (at the top of the hill) and Fountainbridge to the North.

I hope that some of you will pop in for a coffee and a chat….. and maybe even a discussion about your photography requirements? 😉

I am currently running a free prize draw, where basically you pop your contact details in the glass bowl and you could win a 1hour shoot and a 10″x8″ framed desk print. The draw was going to be for one day only on opening day, but as numbers were so few, I have decided to extend it until Friday 10th Sept incl…… so pop your head in the door and leave your details.

I am currently offering a 1 hour family shoot + 10×8″ framed print for £99 (normal price £125). I will also be continuing full day wedding coverage for £500 (bridal prep-first dance) for any last minute bookings, i.e weddings + civil partnerships during the remainder of the current year.

We sell gift vouchers….. perfect for those of you who like to plan ahead for your Christmas gifts (I know, I can’t believe I used the “C” word in September either!!)

We continue to take payment by Cash, Cheque or Credit/Debit card.

oh and I meant to say……. Feel free to add us to your Facebook: www.facebook.com/wallaceartworksphotography

So….. I will leave you with some before and after pictures of the new front shop……

>Renewal of Vows, Ormiston Parish Church

>I really must get into the habit of updating this blog much more frequently. It’s terrible that I leave it so long between messages.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the very great pleasure of being in attendance for Hazel and Michael renewing their vows.

Ormiston Parish Church East Lothian Wedding PhotographerThey had the service in Ormiston Parish church, a small village in East Lothian. This was the original church they had married in some 20 odd years ago…. and very pretty it is too.
The ceremony was beautiful and very poignant, given the particular reason they had decided to renew their vows. I must confess I shed a tear, during a phrase the Vicar had used. The was a lovely atmosphere as well as some laughter as the couple’s youngest family member entertained his audience from the alter…. much to the Vicar’s amusement.

After the ceremony, the couple were surprised by one of their guests, who had arranged to have doves released. Unfortunately, I don’t think the guest realised that the bride has an aversion to birds….. something which is evident in some of the photographs. (we have since chuckled about this….. it was a lovely thought though.)

After our group shots, we made our way to a hotel in Inveresk where the guests mingled. A few bridal party shots were captured in the garden and I waited a while until the couple said a few words to their guests.

Thankyou for making me a part of your day……. here is to a healthy and happy rest of your lives together!
