>100 club, London

>Hello folks,
Time for another little update.

A couple of weeks ago I had the very great fortune to head for Hammersmith, London to see the mighty Ultravox.
As it looks very much like Ultravox will be put on ice for a while (i.e they may not tour again after reuniting last year), the official band website/ fan club organised a pre-gig get together for the fans.
This was held at the very famous and historic 100 club in Oxford street and featured music from Party Fears three and Messengers.

Party Fears Three are a trio who do electronic 80s covers. 2 of the members are also in Monument: The official Ultravox tribute band. They are very talented Musicians and very good friends of mine.
I arrived late to the venue (thanks to the train delay) and had to go straight there with my suitcase, with no time to detour to the hotel (very embarrassing, but the cloakroom chap was lovely and vowed to look after it for me).
I just managed to grab a couple of shots before they wound up the set up………

Messengers were up next. Messengers are Danny Mitchell and Colin King. They used to be Ultravox’s support band back in the day, as well as being sort of honorary members of the band as they used to play onstage with the main act. Ultravox as a band used to have so many synths that they needed an extra couple of pairs of hands to help play them! They did this, as well as backing vocals.
For this reason, Messengers are like old friends to the Ultravox fans and so having them perform was a real treat.
